Project overview
A wide interior opening needed to be closed with a multi-panel sliding door system while still allowing the opening to remain flexible and visually clean. The selected doors were designed to hang from an upper track using rollers, so the entire installation depended on accurate track placement and careful panel alignment.
The problem
A wide interior opening needed a four-panel top-hung sliding door system with accurate track placement, panel alignment, guides, stops, and concealed hardware.
Work performed
The upper sliding track system was installed across the opening and the rollers were mounted to the door panels according to the hardware system. Each panel was hung, adjusted, and aligned so the doors could slide correctly across the opening. Floor guides and stops were installed at the bottom to keep the hanging panels from swinging or moving out of position. After the operating hardware was complete, decorative molding was added across the top to conceal the track and create a more built-in appearance. The doors were later painted black on the side facing the darker adjoining room.
The result
The finished installation functions as one coordinated sliding door system rather than separate hanging panels, with the upper hardware hidden behind trim for a cleaner architectural finish.
