Project overview

This bathroom was rebuilt and refinished around the existing plumbing and electrical work. I replaced drywall where needed, installed GoBoard tile backer and waterproofing in the wet area, prepared and leveled the wall surfaces, built a recessed niche for bath products, tiled the tub surround and floor, finished the window sill area with tile, and completed the room with smooth painted walls and ceiling. Plumbing and electrical work were not part of this project.

The problem

The bathroom needed extensive wall and finish restoration before the new tile and painted surfaces could be completed. The tub surround required new backing and waterproof preparation, and the remaining walls needed repair and leveling for a clean finished result.

Work performed

Replaced drywall where required; installed GoBoard tile backer; waterproofed the wet area; prepared, skim-coated, and leveled wall surfaces; built and tiled a recessed storage niche; tiled the tub surround and window sill area; installed floor tile; and painted the walls and ceiling. Plumbing and electrical work were excluded.

The result

A fully renewed bathroom with a waterproof tiled tub surround, finished niche and window area, new tile flooring, and smooth painted walls and ceiling.
